Clinical view / Patient view

Two readings of the same exercise

Kino gives you two versions of the same exercise at once. One for your clinical reading, the other written for your patient.

Forward lunge

StrengtheningPelvis
Note to your patient
Starting position

Stand upright, feet hip-width apart, trunk vertical. Place your hands on your hips or alongside your body.

How to do it
  1. 1.Take a large step forward with one leg and place your foot flat on the floor.
  2. 2.Flex both knees simultaneously: the front knee stays aligned above the ankle, without going beyond the toes.
  3. 3.Lower the rear knee to approximately 5 cm from the floor without touching it.
  4. 4.Push through your front foot to return to the starting position.
  5. 5.Alternate right leg and left leg with each movement. Perform the exercise following the dosage set by your physiotherapist.
Key points
  • Front knee aligned over the ankle: shorten your stride if the knee goes beyond the toes.
  • Vertical descent of the pelvis, without inclination or rotation of the trunk.
  • Back straight and pelvis facing forward throughout the movement.
  • Stop if you feel sharp pain in the hip, knee or ankle.
